LIWC Research Series:
The way we communicate with others in an organization is crucial for building relationships, working productively, and promoting workplace well-being.
The authors of this paper, Müller-Frommeyer and Kaufeld, sought to investigate aspects of communication that are "empirically shown to contribute to successful outcomes of organizational interactions".
The authors used LIWC to examine implicit and explicit communication of individuals in a fictitous meeting, and tried to tease out the practical relevance of both styles of communication for organizations looking to improve their outcomes.
